Nansha Strives to Build Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Talent Cooperation Demonstration Area

As disclosed by an official in Guangzhou Nansha District Talent Development Bureau, Nansha District is striving to build Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Talent Cooperation Demonstration Area. The goal is to constantly optimize the public service system, create a world-class living environment and accelerate the agglomeration of talents and innovation resources. By now 636 Hong Kong, Macao and foreign talents have been identified and 80 million Yuan of government incentives granted.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST Guangzhou) project in Nansha is the first Mainland-Hong Kong cooperative education institute with legal person status approved since the promulgation of the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Insiders of HKUST said that the curriculum design will center around four core areas, including information, function, systems and social science. The project aims to prepare students into interdisciplinary professionals in fields like data science, robotics and automated systems, biomedical and biomedical engineering, advanced materials, intelligent manufacturing and artificial intelligence, deepen the enterprise-university-research institutes and promote the innovation, industrial upgrading and high-quality development of the Greater Bay Area.
